Thanks for stopping by. My name's Damian, and I am "The Happy Hermit". I'm happy because life is a real treat! I'm also a bit of a  hermit, because a lot of people....well....not so much. I created this blog to share our story with like minded folks that don't subscribe to the "normal" ways we are told to live, and just want to make a transition back to a simpler lifestyle. We are transforming a 16x52 Lofted Barn Cabin "shed" from premier portable buildings into our new home. My hope is to create a fully off the grid and self sufficient homestead to secure an enjoyable and financially free lifestyle for myself and my young family, while sharing what we learn with others as we go along. Neither myself nor my spouse were raised on a farm, and for that I am grateful, because each and every day will bring new lessons, and new firsts that we can experience together.
