14x32 Turn Key Tiny Home

When I heard my local "shed" dealer had brought in a fully finished turn key unit, I knew I had to go check it out! Premier portable buildings in Steinbach, MB Canada is selling this 14x32 Lofted barn cabin fully finished for $50,000 CAD. Now depending on your area, this may sound steep, but in an area where home prices now average just shy of $300,000, this just may be the ticket some folks have been looking for.

The best part? Its CSA approved! Yes, just like a CSA approved mobile home, this tiny house just might actually keep the permit inspector smiling and all your worries at bay!

So what are you getting for your 50k? This small home offers approximately 390Sq feet of space on the main level, with additional loft space above for storage or sleeping.It is fully insulated with R28 in the floor and ceilings, and R20 in the Walls. While the offered heating option of electric baseboard heat may not be ideal for an off grid situation where solar power is limited, one could easily outfit the building with a wood stove or propane heater. The building even comes complete with kitchen appliances. 4, 24"x36" windows are included, as well as 2, 30"x60" windows, which make for a legal fire escape in the bedroom.

The overall feel of the cabin was surprisingly spacious, which Im attributing to the tall ceiling height and abundance of natural lighting as you walk into the main area. However, The way the kitchen is laid out doesn't really leave much space for any living or dining room furniture that won't block off the hallway or loft access. If I were to custom order a similar fully finished building, I may opt for a smaller kitchen against the bathroom wall, with the loft ladder to the left, Or choose to not have the front porch and reclaim that 4'x14' area for a kitchenette and entrance rug.

Overall, I think for 50k in an area where a basic mobile home retails in the high 90s, this is a very viable option for somebody looking for a financially stable future and an attainable entry to home ownership. Check out my walkthrough video, and see if you agree!
